How Do Daily, Weekly and Monthly Equipment Rental Rates Compare?

Rental yards discount longer rentals. As a rule of thumb, a weekly rate is about three to four daily rates and a 4-week rate about three weekly rates, so from about the fourth day a weekly booking is usually cheaper than paying day by day. Always compare the full total with delivery, waiver and fees.

Rental Rate Questions

Why is a week sometimes cheaper than five days?

Rental yards discount longer rentals. As a rule of thumb a week costs about three to four daily rates, so from about the fourth day the weekly rate is usually cheaper. The checker compares every combination for you.

What is a 4-week rate?

Most yards bill "monthly" rentals in 4-week (28-day) cycles. A 4-week rate is often around three weekly rates. Long projects can mix 4-week, weekly and daily rates.

Usually not. Rates commonly assume single-shift use, often about 8 engine hours a day, 40 a week or 160 per 4 weeks. Extra hours are billed as overtime; ask the yard.
